Shanghai YaoWang Law Offices announces new partner joining in 2025

Shanghai YaoWang Law Offices is delighted to announce the addition of a new partner, Angela Yan, to our team. Angela brings a wealth of experience and a global perspective to YaoWang, further strengthening the firm's capabilities in arbitration and dispute resolution.

Licensed to practice in both China and California, U.S., Angela is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Her education spans both civil and common law jurisdictions, providing her with a deep understanding of finance, financial products, cross-border transactions, asset management, valuation, pricing, and accounting.

Angela specialises in cross-border litigation and arbitration. Prior to her upcoming role at YaoWang, she dedicated a decade to a China Red Circle law firm. Her expertise covers a wide range of sectors, including but not limited to, domestic and international financing, energy, education, insurance, mining, hospitality, medical services, and construction. Angela has adeptly handled cases under the administration of CIETAC, HKIAC, SIAC, ICC, SHIAC, often leading her clients to favorable awards or satisfactory settlements.

Her collaborative efforts with lawyers across different jurisdictions have been instrumental in navigating complex disputes, including arbitration-related winding-up petitions, derivative lawsuits, injunctions, and enforcement proceedings.

Moreover, Angela has represented clients across various levels of courts in the PRC, tackling civil and commercial litigation, asset preservation, jurisdiction challenges, annulment of arbitral awards, and the recognition and enforcement of foreign awards/judgments.

Angela serves as the China and New Zealand representative of the Equal Representation in Arbitration (ERA) Pledge Young Practitioners Sub-Committee, and she is the Chair of China for the Very Young Arbitration Practitioners (VYAP). Her commitment to the field is further evidenced by a successful half-year secondment at a French multinational energy and petroleum company.
